Beautiful Maternity gowns for maternity photography

J & L Designs Boutique specializes in handmade maternity gowns and accessories for maternity photography, baby showers, weddings and special events.

J&L Designs Boutique started when my sister in law came to visit. She is a photographer over at Candids and Colors Photography. She has a great following and when one of her fans heard that my sister in law was going to be in town she asked there was any time to squeeze in a maternity photo shoot. The only problem was that my sister in law did not travel with her maternity gowns. So I put one together for her. It was terrible and not at all what I do now. But it was fun and I loved seeing how beautiful and happy the Momma to be was wearing the dress I made.

That was when I decided to figure out how to properly make a maternity gown. Luckily Chelsea from Chelsea Celeste Designs was looking for an apprentice to pass along her knowledge of Maternity dress making. I jumped at the chance and here I am today. Making my regular collection and couture pieces intermittently. I love my job. I love looking at photos of my gowns on beautifully empowered women who are embracing the power of creating a new life. It’s magic. I am always working on new designs and playing with vintage patterns.
